Wrocławski Teatr Pantomimy
The basis of the performance is the dramatic work of Chekhov and the situation of group psychotherapy, explored in terms of its theatrical form. The therapeutic group is made up of characters from various Chekhov’s dramas. They are confronted with each other, along with their flaws and mental difficulties with which they were “diagnosed” by the creators of the piece. Two rather eccentric therapists are leading them through the process.
Excerpts from all Chekhov’s dramas are put together with original texts depicting the therapeutic situation. The combination of psychological and movement material generates a semi-formal, grotesque language with which Chekhov’s reality is told. And it is looking oddly familiar to the reality of our own.
